Online Arabic Classes for Adults

Live, teacher-led Modern Standard Arabic for adult learners — whether you are starting from the alphabet, want to read and understand more of what you recite, or want to hold a conversation in Arabic.

Arabic, Taught to Adults as Adults

Adult learners arrive with different reasons and very different starting points. Some have never read an Arabic letter. Some read fluently in prayer but do not know what the words mean. Some studied Arabic years ago and want to rebuild. Your teacher establishes where you actually are before deciding what to teach.

What the programme can cover

The content is shaped around your goal rather than a fixed syllabus. Depending on your starting point and what you want to reach, lessons can include:

  • Arabic grammar, explained in a way that is usable rather than academic
  • Vocabulary building for the topics you actually need
  • Reading comprehension, working through real Arabic text
  • Conversation in Arabic, with a teacher who corrects as you speak
  • Support for understanding Quranic Arabic — the vocabulary and structures that recur in the Quran

How a Learner Starts

1

You tell us your goal

Reading the Quran with understanding, speaking with family, study, work, or simply beginning — the goal changes what the first lessons look like.

2

The teacher assesses your level

A teacher works out what you can already read, recognise and say. Nothing is assumed from a form.

3

A plan is set for you

Your starting level and learning plan depend on you, the subject and the teacher you are matched with. It is adjusted as you progress.

What a Live Lesson Looks Like

Lessons are live and interactive, one-to-one or in a small group arranged according to level and availability. You read, speak and are corrected in the moment, rather than watching a recording. Scheduling is flexible and depends on teacher availability, so sessions are arranged with your teacher around your commitments and time zone.

Learning Arabic for a child instead? Our Arabic alphabet classes for children start with letters, sounds and early reading. If your aim is reciting the Quran correctly rather than the language itself, see Quran recitation classes or Tajweed classes.

Common Questions

Do I need to know the Arabic alphabet before starting?

No. Complete beginners are taught the letters and sounds first. If you already read, the teacher starts from what you can do.

Is this Modern Standard Arabic or a dialect?

The programme teaches Modern Standard Arabic — the shared written and formal form of the language used across the Arab world and closest to the Arabic of books, news and formal speech.

Will this help me understand the Quran?

It can. Lessons can focus on the vocabulary and sentence structures that recur in the Quran, so that what you recite becomes meaningful. If your priority is correct pronunciation of recitation itself, Tajweed is the more direct route.

How often are lessons, and how long do they take?

There is no fixed timetable. Frequency and scheduling are agreed with your teacher based on your goals and their availability, and progress depends on the learner.

Are lessons one-to-one or in a group?

Both are possible. Small groups are arranged according to level and availability; one-to-one gives the teacher’s full attention to a single learner.

What does it cost?

Message us on WhatsApp and we will explain the options for your situation. All lessons are paid, and a lesson is scheduled once enrolment and payment are complete.
